*In my experience, there's nothing certain about Birth Session. It may be done in 3 hours, it may stretch to 12 hours, and you may not get the images you hoped for when emergency calls and the mom-to-be has to move to the caesarean room, which means I cannot capture the birth as I won't be allowed in. However the day goes - I will always do my best to give you the memories in images that you can keep.

How to Prepare for Birth Session

-
Lock in the date: Coordinate early - set up estimate date within 1 or 2 weeks, so that I would stand by.
-
On the day you are admitted in the hospital, please ask your family member to keep me posted. I normally be there when you're about 2-hours away to delivery time.
-
Make sure you've let the hospital know that I will be in the birth suite the whole time with camera. Hospital usually lets 2 people (family or friend) inside - they will have to have my name in the list.
-
Be prepared that sometimes birth shoot doesn't go according to plan, but you will always have some photographs for memory. This helps you stay relaxed.
-
List your must-have shots: Write down the ideas you’d love to include so nothing is missed.
-
Bring personal touches: Props, toys or sentimental items can add meaning and fun to your session.

How to Prepare for Newborn Session

-
Lock in the date: Coordinate early. Choose the time after your baby's fed.
-
Set up the shooting spot ahead - keep the room in a comfortable temperature for your baby. If you'd like outdoor images, try to choose the closest to home (even backyard would be great as we'll focus on your baby, not the landscape/view).
-
Plan your outfits: Choose clothes ahead - for the baby and parents. Avoid busy patterns or large logos that can distract from the photos.
-
Confirm the location: Double-check where we’re meeting and allow time for parking or travel.
-
List your must-have shots: Write down the ideas or poses you’d love to include so nothing is missed.
-
Bring personal touches: Props, toys or sentimental items can add meaning and fun to your session.
-
Stay relaxed: Come ready to enjoy the experience - natural smiles and candid moments often make the best photos!
