How to Prepare for Publication Session

-
Lock in the date: Coordinate early and make sure the models and everyone involved is booked for their time.
-
Set up the shooting spot ahead - choose a room with great lighting/windows and comfortable temperature. Put any clutters away and leave only the items you'd want to be in the images. If you're heading for outdoor location, make sure you make decision ahead - preferably a private or hidden spot where you can feel free to pose and change.
-
Select and prepare the items you want to be photographed - the outfits and accessories. Pair each item with accessories and hang them in order you want the models to wear. This is an important part of the plan - when you're organized, you will have more time for the shooting and some contingency room for spontaneous ideas.
-
Estimate how many outfits you can fit into the session you choose and bring a few as back-up in case you have leftover time. The number of outfits need to be reasonably fit into the shooting hours.
-
Make sure the models are ready to be photographed at location, fully made-up and informed of what outfit are for them to wear.
-
Confirm the location with everyone involved in the session: Double-check where we’re meeting and allow time for parking or travel.
-
List your must-have shots: Write down the ideas or poses you’d love to include so nothing is missed. Make sure this is confirmed with me, either during consultation or later on ahead of the session date.
-
Come early - it's never a bad thing.
